Just don't call her the Piano Girl...

Alexa Ray Joel isn’t letting a small detail like not having a record deal stop her budding career. The savvy 20-year-old spawn of “Piano Man” musician Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley has instead produced a self-released debut EP that’s already been picked up for exclusive nationwide distribution at Target stores.

In a 2006 People Magazine interview, she described her musical style as "a bit more soulful, more blues than my dad's. He’s more pop rock. And his piano playing is better than mine, but that's okay. I don't want to be the Piano Girl."
